How to rapidly connect the trendnet Wi-Fi extender? Before you going to setup Trendnet WiFi Extender, you must have the following essentials in advance:
Also, be aware that you assemble the Range Extender close to your wireless router before setting it up in its last position.
For a Wi-fi protected setup, you must have a WPS button on your Trendnet router. If you can't find a WPS button on your Trendnet router, try for a manual installation.
Step 1: Plug the TEW-822DRE into an electric socket close to your Wi-Fi router.
Step 2: Next, move the power regulator to the Extender position. Though not compulsory, we advise you to place the Range Extender close to your wireless router before setting it up.
Step 3: Pause for around two minutes for the TEW-822DRE to boot up. The Power LED will flash all through the booting procedure and regular operation.
Step 4: Force down and hold onto the WPS button on the border of the TEW-822DRE for around five seconds. When WPS pairing is set in motion, the WPS button starts blinking.
Step 5: In the next two minutes, force down and keep hold of the WPS button on your Wi-Fi router for five seconds to kick off WPS pairing.
When the WPS procedure wraps up, the blinking of the WPS button will end.
Step 6: Make sure that the wireless LED is on.
Step 7: If the TEW-822DRE does not connect, then either do the 3-6 steps again after five minutes or choose manual setup.
Step 8: Connect the TEW-822DRE in the eventual location.
Step 9: If you want the best possible performance from your TEW- 822DRE, then set it up in a spot that has a minimum of 2 bars of connection (from your Wi-Fi router to a mobile gadget.)
Step 10: Do not put any furniture in front of the TEW-822DRE.
If the wireless LED colour is blue, then the wireless connection strength between the router and TEW-822DRE is powerful.
However, if the wireless LED colour is red, then the wireless connection strength between the router and TEW-822DRE is frail; at this point, you must consider changing the extender's location.
Step 1: To begin with, insert the TEW-822DRE into an electrical socket next to your Wi-Fi router.
Step 2: Soon after, move the power switch to the Extender position.
Step 3: On your PC, launch a web browser and type in http://tew-822dre or http://192.168.10.100 in the address bar.
Step 4: The TEW-822DRE will automatically kick off the setup wizard.
Step 5: Click Next to continue.
Step 6: Later, the TEW-822DRE will request you to alter the default password (necessary for starting up the management interface.)
Step 7: Soon after, write down your new password in the Password field.
Step 8: Afterward, confirm your password in the Verify Password field.
Step 9: Click Next to continue.
Step 10: Now, the wizard will query you on exactly how you would like to launch your device.
Step 11: After selecting Manual, click Next to continue.
Step 12: At this point, the TEW-822DRE will carry out a site survey for existing Wi-Fi networks.
Step 13: Key in the router’s Wi-Fi password in the Wi-Fi Key field.
Step 14: After that, click Next to continue.
Step 15: As soon as the scan concludes, select your router’s network.
Step 16: Click Next to continue.
Step 17: At this juncture, TEW-822DRE mechanically accepts your router's network name (and Wi-Fi key).
Step 18: Click Next.
Step 19: At this point, be aware that though you can opt for a different Wi-Fi network name for the extended network, you must physically link up gadgets with the extended network.
Step 20: If you continue with the same network name and Wi-Fi key, then your gadgets will automatically join the Range Extender.
Step 21: At this point, the wizard will display the settings for your extended network.
Step 22: If these settings are appropriate, click Save to save your settings.
Step 23: Stop what you are doing as the TEW-822DRE saves your settings. The manual setup has now successfully come to an end.
Step 24: Your extended network is now in force.
Step 24: Set up the TEW-822DRE in the last location.
Step 25: If you want optimum performance, then connect the TEW-822DRE in a spot which has at least 2 bars of connection (from your Wi-Fi router to a mobile device.)
If the wireless LED lights emit a blue colour, then it indicates that the wireless connection to the router is satisfactory. However, if the wireless LED lights produce a red colour, then the wireless connection is feeble. Think about altering the Wi-Fi range extender's setting if you would like a superior wireless connection to the router.
