Sometimes you are not getting a proper response from your modem, so in that case, you are required to reset an Arris modem. There are two options available to reset an Arris modem

First one is power cycle reset and the second one is factory reset Arris modem. Power cycle reset is used basically to reboot your to overcome your temporary error or malfunction and we know that completing the power cycle is very fast and easy and you will get surprised to see that you’re so many problems get resolved.

Factory resetting refers to clean your router completely, generally, users adopt this factory resetting when they are going to sell modems or need not require it for a long time. Factory resetting operation will remove all the network information and it will restore the modem with an original setting to work on the new network.

To Reset your Arris Modem Through the Power Cycle.

Step 1: You simply need to unplug the Arris modem from the power source first and then need to unplug your Ethernet cable from modem and computer.

Step 2: Now you need to wait for some time to drain all the power from your modem.

Step 3: Now you need to attach a power cord to your modem.

Step 4: Then you need to attach your modem with an Ethernet cable by inserting in an Ethernet port.

Step 5: Now you need to wait for one or two minutes for rebooting process and try to connect with the network.

Step 6: Now your modem starts with a blinking light this indicates that if the LED light is blinking in your modem, then it is connected with the main network, if it does not do so, then you need to follow all the above steps, which we have discussed earlier.

Step 7: Now you need to test your network with your home computer or laptop to ensure that all are working fine or not.

If you are facing an issue that your modem is not working fine still then you need to locate the recessed pinhole in the back of your modem, for you need to straighten a paper clip and press the button for few seconds then release, this will cycle a reset second time and restore the modem operations.

Reset of Arris modem through the factory resetting process, first, you need to locate the same pinhole of your modem which is located at the back of your modem. You can use a paperclip to press the button which is inside the hole but hold the button down for approximately for ten seconds.

This will run a full factory resetting for your Arris router. After performing the reset operation, you need to setup your network again or you can setup your modem with new network. Factory resetting will erase all the previous network settings. After resetting you can fresh start with your network.

Another Alternate Solution After Failing Above Two Solutions for Arris Modem Reset:

If the power cycle resetting process and button reset and complete factory resetting fail to restore your modem to work in normal mode, then there is another possibility is that your hardware is failing out or you have a corrupted power cord or corrupted Ethernet cable.
For troubleshooting this kind of issue, first, you need to check your power and Ethernet cord for checking damage or corrupt or lose connection.
You need to plug the power cord into a dedicated power outlet to ensure a reliable power supply.
If the power cord and the Ethernet cable are corrupted, It is advised to replace this old and corrupted power cord with new one.
If all the hardware like a power cord and the Ethernet cable is working fine then it might be possible that your router has hardware failure itself.
Now you need to look out the warranty of your modem or repair policy for the replacement of your modem or repair it.
If your modem is not under warranty, in that case you need to purchase another fresh modem and do the necessary settings for working efficiently.
