When it comes to Xfinity router signals, you need to note an important distinction.

The Orange vs green blinking light signifies that the communication message of Comcast is flowing. A blinking green light indicates a downstream communication attempt from Comcast to the gateway. You will get an outage notification on top of your window of the Xfinity Status Center. You must perform a simple search that includes the words Xfinity outage and the name of your city to check if there is an internet outage in your area.

If you find that there is a local outage, then you must monitor the situation and wait for the Xfinity issue to get fixed. You also need to find an Xfinity hotspot closeby by entering the zip code. If your data plan enables this, then you must consider using your mobile phone as a hotspot.

Solution 3: Optimize the Physical Location of Your Gateway

The physical location of the gateway plays a huge role as it sends signals in every direction. If you want optimum Wi-Fi coverage, then you must ensure that the gateway is kept in the central area of your home.

If you keep it in an open space where there are no obstructions, then lift it up and keep it in an upright position.

Solution 4: Limit the Number of Devices on Your Network

If there are a lot of devices on your network, then your internet may become overloaded. This is known as "bandwidth overload" and this can be one possible reason for Xfinity Wi-Fi blinking green light. A lot of times one of the members of the family hog up the entire bandwidth. This may also happen if an unknown person is stealing your bandwidth.

Step 1: First of all, you are required to sign in to your Xfinity account. Alternatively, you can go to the My Account app and then choose the Services tab given below the internet section. Then, select Manage Internet.

Step 2: After that, scroll down to the Xfinity Wi-Fi hotspot-connected devices. Then, you need to select "Manage Devices". Once you reach the section of Manage Devices, you can see the devices connected to the internet. Once you see the culprit, you need to manually remove them from the Manage Devices page.

Solution 5: Inspect the Coax Cable and then tighten it

Coax cable is generally responsible for internet connectivity problems. The inner pin connector of the cable can get damaged. First of all, you need to inspect the entire cable and then check the pin connector and then ensure that there are no physical visible defects.

Also, try straightening out the kinks and bends on the cable as this can cause serious connectivity issues. After that, the connection between the back of the gateway and the cable is secure. Push the cable firmly and then tighten it.

Solution 6: Factory Reset Xfinity Gateway

Another thing that you can try to resolve this problem is to factory reset your xFi gateway. This will restore your Xfinity Gateway to a new one. However, all the custom settings such as password and username will be lost.

This means that you need to use the information located at the end of the device to log in to your system. Then, you must re-establish the password and SSID.

Factory Reset Using the WPS Push Button

In case you are using Xfinity gateway third generation, then you should use the WPS push button method to factory reset your device. The button is located at the back of the gateway.  Press and hold this button for at least 60 seconds.
