How to Fix TP-Link Extender not Connecting to Internet?

If certain range extenders do not have a RE light. A signal light or a 2.4G/5G light may be present. To see if the extender is linked to the main network, consult the installation documentation. The term "end-device" refers to a computer or laptop, while "front-device(s)" refers to the modem or primary router to which the TP-Link router is attached.

If the only 2.4G LED light is on and the 5G light is out on a Dual-Band Range Extender, please assist fix the primary router's 5G to band1 (channel 36-48), and the RE should be able to connect to the Router in 5G. Advanced Features of the Router:

Check the following primary router functions to see whether they are interfering with RE's ability to connect and work reliably and get your solution for TP-LINK EXTENDER NOT CONNECTING TO INTERNET:

Configuration Failed Because the Single Power Light was On.

Solution: Reset the extender and try again via WPS/web UI/Tether.

Only 2.4G of the extension linked to the router has a power light and a 2.4G light on.

Solution: Check your router's 5G channel to make sure it's not one of the DFS channels.

All of the lights are turned on, and the extender has already established a connection with the router.

Solution: To configure the DHCP server on the extender, go to this link.

On the extender's status page, look for the little symbol (need to connect one of your devices to the extender)

Check the status of the global icon at the bottom > abnormal, no internet

Solution: Make sure your devices have Internet connectivity when they connect directly to the router.

The extender has not connected to the router if the state between the router and the extender icon is weird or grey.

Solution: Check the router's client list to ensure the extender is included.

If it doesn't work, try hard resetting the extender and reconfiguring it using WPS/web UI/Tether.

Case 1: After the Setup, the RE Light is Turned Off.

Check the primary router's Wi-Fi password. If feasible, go into your router's administrative page and double-check the Wi-Fi password.

Set the range extender at a distance of 2-3 meters from the router. Push the reset button for a few seconds to factory reset it. And set up the range extender from the ground up.

If the RE light has finally turned on but you are still unable to connect to the internet, please refer to Cases Two or Three. If the RE light is still not illuminated, switch off and on the range extender, then wait two to two minutes to see if the RE light comes on.

Update the firmware on the range extender and reconfigure it.

Case 2: When the RE Light is On, The End Device is Unable to Connect to the Range Extender's Wi-Fi.

Check the end devices' wireless signal strength. If just one end device can connect to the range extender's Wi-Fi, disconnect the wireless network's profile and reconnect it. Also, connect it straight to your router to test if it can connect.

If several devices are unable to connect to the extender's SSID, please contact TP-Link customer service and include any error messages received.

Case 3: When the RE Light is On, the End Device can Connect to the Range Extender's WiFi But not to the Network.

Do not use the same SSID for the router and the range extender. If this is not the case, please reset the range extender and generate a new SSID.
Update the firmware on the range extender and adjust it.

Experiment with a variety of end devices. If only one end device does not have internet connectivity, check to see if it is automatically getting an IP address. What if it connects straight to the main router?

Check internet connectivity by connecting the same end device directly to the main router. When connected to the router, check its IP address and Default Gateway.
