How to Download the Linksys Connect Software?

The Linksys Connect Software allows you to easily manage your wireless network and the devices you want to connect. Each device comes with a setup CD featuring Linksys Connect. This article will show you how to Download the Linksys Connect Software for your device if you don't have the CD.

Before Downloading:

Please keep in mind that Linksys Connect is not compatible with all devices. The supported devices that work with the Linksys Connect Software are shown in the table below.

Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Routers provide a free service bundle called Linksys Smart Wi-Fi, which allows users to remotely access, configure, and monitor their home network.

How You Can Download the Linksys Connect Software

To get the software, follow the instructions below:

Step 1: Go to Linksys Support Site.

Step 2: Enter your device's model number in the Search by Product or Model Number search form, and then pick your device's model number.

Note: The E4200 router is used in the following example.

How do I figure out what my device's model number is if I'm not sure? On the back of the device, you'll see the model number on the label. If you're still having difficulties locating your device's model number, see how I find my model number?

How can I know which version of hardware I'm using? On the label under the router, you can see the hardware version and the model number. It's commonly written in the vx format, where x can be any number (i.e., v3). If there is no number, the hardware version of the device is 1.

Step 3: You'll be taken to the support page for the product. Click Download Software at the bottom of the page.

Step 4: Choose your device's hardware version.

Step 5: Select your computer's Operating System (OS) and click Download.

Step 6: Click the AGREE button when the End User License Agreement prompt opens.

Note: Most browsers save the downloaded item as an a.zip file in the Downloads folder. If you see.exe or.dmg file extensions for Linksys Connect downloads, don't be alarmed. The file extension.exe will be used if you are downloading applications for a Windows OS. If you're using Mac OS®, you'll need to use the.dmg extension instead.

After you've completed the Linksys Connect Software download, you'll be able to set up your router or gateway.
